This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students live in the city of Springfield. Many come from low-income families and do not have money for school supplies. My students are smart, outgoing, and excited to learn.

I want my students to be able to create something that will be so exciting and interesting that it causes other students to ask them about their projects.

I want to be able to watch my students explain what they have learned to other students in a way that inspires other students to learn about the same subject.

My Project

I am asking for some supplies that have started to run low in my classroom. I am asking for expo markers. My students and I use them many times throughout the day on white boards. I am asking for the pens and pencils so that I can grade student work and plan for upcoming lessons. I am asking for the binders so that I can keep my lesson plans organized. I am asking for the folders so that I can keep student work organized.

I am asking for the printer so I can print or make copies of needed materials for my lessons.

I work at a large school with only 2 copiers for the teachers to use; often they are being used or out of ink. I am asking for the paper and the ink to use with the printer. I want to be able to easily access the supplies/materials that my students will use to achieve.

The velcro and ceiling hooks will be used to display students work around the classroom. I am asking for the stickers as rewards for students that work hard. The masks are for myself so that I can be safe while teaching. Finally, the broom will be used to clean up educational messes that are created while my students are working on projects.
