I teach in a low socioeconomic community. Many of my students have no home support and have to rely on each other and their peers for what is lacking. With this in mind, I try to encourage my students to embrace the bonds and friendships that are formed within the classroom. Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. I incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, partner learning, buddy classrooms, and other learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met.
They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!
With school funding falling each year, students no longer have access to printers for publishing their work. Copies for the classroom are limited, so my students rarely get to print out their written assignments.
Students enjoy seeing their projects come to life and displayed in color on the walls.
With the addition of the printer and laminator, students will be able to create classroom projects that can last for quite some time.
As a parent, as well as a teacher, I know how precious school some school projects can be. Hopefully these items will be used for years to come.
