I teach at the largest elementary school in Alabama. We are a Title I school, with over 70% of students being on free or reduced lunch. If I had to use two words to describe my classroom, they would be melting pot. That's exactly what my classroom is. We are a diverse family filled with members of different economics, cultures, and life experiences. Many of my students have traveled to the United States with the hopes and dreams of a better life and that's exactly what I am determined to give them!
My Project
Where would the world be without our engineers and architects? Awfully flat if I do say so myself. The STEM activities and materials I have chosen will provide my students with opportunities to challenge themselves critically, while building their socialization skills. All while they beleive they are just "playing". These activities are designed to provide students with hands-on, engaging, and meaning obstacles that will require them to strategically apply their knowledge whole working as a team. Many of these items fit right in with my science standards, while others will open the door for me to prepare my students for life after Kindergarten.
