Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students want to read about the world. They are energetic, curious and hard workers. I want to give them the opportunity to read as many books as they can, that connect to who they are.
All of my students have the potential of achieving great things.
They are smart, work hard and deserve the best. Today they are readers, tomorrow they will be leaders.
I want to put books in their hands that will teach them tools on how to deal with emotions.
My Project
I chose books written by latin authors, about latin children such as La frontera, The Princess and the Pea. I chose books that show kids how to problem solve and manage different emotions such as Bad Seed, "Asi me sent yo". I want them to make lasting connections with stories of bravery, and hard work.
I chose these books that show kindness and mindfulness so tomorrow they will be kind and mindful leaders!
The materials will be in m y classroom library and will be available for students to check out and take home. We will do book snaps and share with the community.
