Help me give my students curriculum related books for our classroom library. We need fiction and non-fiction books from varying lexile levels that support our classroom learning.

My Students

My fifth graders are moving on to sixth grade- with me! We have a beautiful opportunity to continue learning together for another year. I have been lucky enough to move up a grade with my class. My students have shown tremendous resiliency as they were asked to do new things this past year. Now, we are being asked to do new things together and we need your help!

We have a uniquely blended group of students.

Our classroom is an ESL classroom. We have many students that are refugees and immigrants from Venezuela and other South American countries.

They are a brilliant group with a firm grasp of technology. They boldly take on new challenges. They deserve an outstanding final year of elementary school even though their teacher will be new to 6th grade.

My Project

It is so essential that every student have access to books on their reading level and in their native language. Our classroom desperately needs curriculum-aligned books that are from varying Lexile levels and in multiple languages. My hope is to have a book in the classroom library for every level of reader.

ESL students need access to curriculum-aligned books that connect our world's history to our current events.

Students that are able to connect classroom learning to independent learning retain content knowledge at higher levels. Providing students with access to curriculum-related books will create personalized learning experiences.
