My Students

The love of reading is more prevalent in our school! These terrific students in the 3rd , 4th, 5th and 6th grade have to opportunity to participate in the Battle of the Books program. It is an extracurricular program that challenges these amazing students to read 15- 20 books from an assigned book list.

Our amazing students follow the quote given by Margaret Fuller, "Today a reader, tomorrow a leader." and come together to learn leadership skills and work together as a team!

Student form their own teams to answer questions from what they have read in these books, by knowing the title of each book and the author.

My Project

Receiving books for prizes instead of candy or toys, will only help each student want to continue the love of reading. Reading will increase their intelligence and vocabulary to be a leader of tomorrow!

If the students are able to pick out a Newbery award winning book, each student will feel like they have won an award themselves and have more love of reading!

Having the donations of great books to put in the hands of these students will only help reading programs like the Battle of the Books, be successful with challenging our students to read more and be successful. Thank you very much!!
