it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students
My students are in a self-contained, autistic, support classroom in an urban school in Philadelphia, for grade bands K-2. My students are all on varying grade levels academically. I have several high functioning students as well as low functioning students.
My students are very sweet and kind who want the ability to learn in the best possible environment for them.
My students are very hands-on students who also like visuals. They enjoy completing puzzles, building things with blocks and LEGOs.
My Project
It is so important for our students to read outside of school as much as it is to read in school. I want to have my own up to date classroom library where they can take a book at any time just for fun. If they can read for fun and find enjoyment in it, they will become better lifelong readers. These skills will transfer over into our classrooms.
If their reading skills increase, it is obvious that their grades are going to increase also.
I believe that for kids to get excited about reading, we need to have the most current books which our school library may not have. To have a literacy rich environment my students will be encouraged to read books.
