My Students

This year, I have the opportunity of co-teaching 17 enthusiastic students in a 2nd grade classroom affiliated with the ASD Nest Program. The ASD Nest Program is a partnership between the NYCDOE and New York University’s ASD Nest Support Project. This program serves students with ASD and typically developing students in a reduced class-size Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) model.

My students are eager to learn new things and do their very best as long as they are given the opportunity to do so.

Over the past few months, we have become a family that is always encouraged to praise each other's accomplishments and support each other in times of need.

My Project

This year my school has had the opportunity to partner up with Teacher's College Reading and Writing Project to increase student achievement in the area of literacy. In order to carry out this program to the best of our ability, we are in need of a fully stocked library as we expose our students to various genres throughout the school year.

With the implementation of this program, we have seen great progress in just five months of school.

However, as our students' reading levels increase and the units begin to change, we are in need of more books. Not only will they meet our students' individual needs but they will also support our literacy instruction as well.
