My Students

I am a first year teacher at CES and am eagerly waiting to meet my new students. Although I haven't met them yet I have been a teacher for 5 years. What I am most excited about with this new class is the opportunity to loop. That means I get my kids for two years! I can't wait for the relationships I will gain. As a teacher I know how important reading is. Helping your students find a genre they love can create lifelong readers.

My Project

This is my first year teaching 5th and 6th grade so my personal library is limited. I want to share my love for reading with my students! I can still remember when I found a series that I couldn't put down. I want to help my students find their favorite genre or series.

The best way for a kid to become a better reader is to read more.

Exposing them to a variety of books of high interest will also create a love for reading. This project will make a difference because my students will have the freedom to read independently with a book of their choice.
