My students need access to reading award winning and quality books. This set of eight amazing books includes the Newbery Award winner, Hello Universe, the Caldecott winner, and all of the Nevada Young reader award nominees.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are highly motivated and love to participate in special learning activities! A high number of students elect to participate in special events, after school activities, and other academic adventures.
Our school motto, Empowering Every Child to be Champions of their Own Success, says it all about the learning culture and motivation of our students.
Divich students are eager to learn, to explore, and to push themselves academically. These children are truly our future, and a bright future it will be!
My Project
The books in this project will be used to help our 4th and 5th grade students at Divich Elementary School boost their reading skills through reading high quality books in a team atmosphere.
Additionally, our goal is to foster a love for reading to create life-long learners by offering students high quality literature.
Because this project will offer access to multiple copies of these wonderful books, more students will get to enjoy them and get excited about them with their team mates.
Once all students have enjoyed the books, they will have the opportunity to participate in fun book jeopardy contests about these books to earn awards, prizes, and have a great time. Unfortunately, our budget does not allow for the purchase of enough books for all of the students who wish to participate, and waiting lists for these reading materials can get long. With funding of this project, more students would be allowed to participate broadening how many students these activities can reach.
As you can see, funding this year-long project to enhance access to high quality literature is worthy of your time and generosity! Students will have the opportunity to read more often and have access to the next award winning book on their list!
