My students need more fiction and non-fiction books of their interest in order to build the basic reading skills like accuracy, fluency, and comprehension.

My Students

A typical day in our classroom consist of reading and more reading. My students love to read and finding books in our classroom library that peak their interest. By hearing from my students that they wanted more books in our classroom library, as a teacher it just excited me!

I have 18 students in my class.

Majority of them love to read books of their choice whether it is fiction or non-fiction. They enjoy reading to self, reading to someone, and listening to reading. They enjoy getting to take adventures to new places when they are reading and expanding their imagination.

My Project

My students will be using these books during Daily 5 rotations where my students can read to self, read to someone, and during read during their independent time. My students will be able to continue their passion for reading by reading books they choose to have in our classroom library.

The donations to this project will improve our classroom library allowing students to find books that they will enjoy.

My students' lives will change for the better by being able to extend their vocabulary, accuracy, fluency, and comprehension skills. "Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader." - Margaret Fuller
