Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Each one of my students are wonderfully unique in their own special way. We celebrate and appreciate our different cultures and personalities which make their experiences in learning even better. They understand that learning can take place through dance, music, reading and with access to current technology, they will be able to break through the walls of our classroom and explore to their heart's content. They are excited about learning and they are ready to blast-off towards a brighter future!
They are learning to be fluent readers and writers and are enthusiastic about the ability to communicate effectively and become culturally and technologically competent.
My class is made up of English language learners and native English speakers. We have the opportunity to embrace each other's culture and use our primary language as a tool to learn English. iPad minis will allow my students to work collaboratively to create and learn from each other.
My Project
Setting up a STEM Station is ideal for my classroom! The Mobile STEM Station would be all ready to go. It will be in a designated area where my team of students can go, grab their kits, and begin the challenge.
My students are inquisitive and active 5 and 6 year olds wanting to explore and discover the world and environment around them.
They seek ways to get their hands on something they can manipulate and toil with until they exhaust themselves.
I want them to grapple and learn how to persevere through challenges. We are encouraging them to move away from a Fixed Mindset to a Growth Mindset. They will have So Much Fun and not realize they are actually learning skills which will help them go beyond what they are capable of doing.
