Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our kids are amazing, resilient, and crazy talented! Though our auditorium is in need of lights and sound, the stage still calls to our middle school thespians.

When our students put on wigs, they transform into new characters, transport themselves to different times and faraway places, all while learning how to speak and move with confidence and creativity.

Your donation provides wigs that kids can wear in scene work, narrative writing and reading performances, and eventually on stage when we mount our next musical.

Our kids live in the poorest congressional district in the country. 95% of the student body receives free/reduced lunch. You'd be surprised how quickly a wig and an audience can help a student forget real life struggles and embrace the act of becoming someone else. Thank you for helping our kids embrace their inner-actor-selves!
