This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school serves students in grades K-8 and provides rigorous academics, highly qualified teachers and a safe learning environment. Our students come from varying backgrounds and demographics. We are a Title 1 school and strive to help or students get the most out of their education.

My students say, "We are Awesome!" everyday to remind themselves who they are capable of being.

They are kind, caring children who really want to learn. I try to provide them with as many opportunities as possible to help ensure their success.

My Project

Students need pencils. It is a basic supply in classroom across America. Everyone knows that younger children are learning and break them quite easily. Students need an average of two new pencils per week during the first few months of school. Regular pencil sharpeners are noisy and distract from the learning process. A quieter electric sharpeners would really help.

An electric pencil sharpener will cause less distractions and allow students to get back to learning quickly.

Students are still learning in first grade and bite and chew pencils at first. Pencil grips would help my students learn the proper way to hold a pencil to achieve good penmanship.
