My Students

My students are very special kids with unique needs. They have multiple disabilities, are non verbal and have severe developmental delays. My students are the hardest working kids I have ever met. They face many obstacles daily and conquer these with a great attitude while doing it.

Students in my classroom put a smile on the faces of those that meet them.

They are part of an inclusive school that gives them many opportunities to experience a wide array of learning and social opportunities.

My Project

My students come to life when music is involved. Having a steel drum in our classroom will give each student an opportunity to create music to help in their overall development. We currently do a drum circle and adding this drum will enhance this experience for my students.

The steel drum will play many roles in the classroom.

This drum will be used in an individual setting where a student will be working on skills such as following directions, imitation, communication, gross motor skills and creativity. The possibilities are endless with a musical instrument like this. This can open up the world for all of my students.
