Each child in my K-4 classroom absolutely loves learning and showing how they can be successful in a non-typical classroom. My students are creative, thoughtful, and full of questions! They love to come to my computer lab setting and learn with computer science tools that are not available in their home or regular classroom. It allows all the students to be successful with multiple types of assessment for the same assignment. They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to learn, explore, and try new things so they can grow both mentally, emotionally, and academically.
My students are always involved, excited, and imaginative; my students are eager to immerse themselves in any kind of Computer Science challenge or STEAM/STEM activity.
Since our school is in a high poverty area we do not get a lot of extra funds to purchase technology. This being said we need to extend the life of the technology we do have. I am asking for Kindle Fire cases to protect the Kindle Fires in my classroom from everyday wear and tear. I also need extra storage for the Kindle Fires so my students can get even more resources download and available to them to integrate into our STEM/STEAM curriculum.
My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive when they are given a choice to use technology in their learning .
