My students need new dramatic play materials, dress up clothes, a space saver dress up center, and more to increase their pre-academic skills, imagination and oral language skills.
My students are enthusiastic learners who are hoping to grow both socially and emotionally this school year. Learning through play helps students build their vocabulary, conversational skills, and problem solving abilities, all while adding a lot of fun to a very rigorous academic routine.
Fred Rogers said, " When children pretend, they're using their imaginations to move beyond the bounds of reality." My students love to dance and sing, love to communicate, love to learn, and most importantly love to have fun at school.
This addition to our Rockin' K Kindergarten classroom will take us, out of this world!
My Project
With an expansion to their dramatic play materials, my students need costumes, lab coats and hangers. Students will be able to expand their minds through imaginative play. Learning through play is one of the most meaningful ways a child learns.
According to Early Childhood Research and Practice, "If children lack opportunities to experience [pretend] play, their long-term capacities related to metacognition, problem solving, and social cognition, as well as to academic areas such as literacy, mathematics, and science, may be diminished".
It is expected that with quality dramatic play materials my students will improve their oral language skills, improve their peer relationships, expand their imaginations, and build a strong foundation in early reading, writing, and math skills.
Please help me provide my amazing kindergarten students for this year and many years to come, with dramatic play materials such as new dress up clothes, a new cash register, and an incredible space savor dress up center that will provide them with a strong academic foundation and endless amounts of fun!!!!
