My Students

What an exciting time for my TK (transitional kinder) students to experience the joy of learning letters visually and through tactile methods.

I work for a school district that is very limited in funding for school supplies.

My students are in TK (transitional kindergarten) and learn best through hands-on work. My school is a transitional kindergarten to second grade campus. It is in a small community.

My Project

My students need tactile letters and Wikki Stix to engage their sense of touch in learning letters. They need letter beads and letter stamps to create words. These resources will enable my students to learn their uppercase and lowercase letters in a visual and tactile manner. Learning through different modalities will help reach the various learning styles of kids. We will trace letters, make them with Wikki Stix, stamp them and make words with these letters.

Learning the alphabet is the foundation for becoming a great reader and avid learner.

Using these letter tools will help spark the love of letters and get them excited to read in kindergarten.
