My students need basic supplies to help with snack and printing materials. WE need ink and dixie cups.

"Childhood is journey, not a race." (author unknown)
This quote has always spoken to me.
I work hard to create a classroom community where students take their time to explore and discover the world and who they are. They need time to develop and flourish and I want to give them plenty of time and resources to shine and grow. We all have so much to learn from our students.
I have 24 transitional kindergartners from diverse families. They have different backgrounds, speak different languages, and some have multiple households. We are a TK-5 school in California with a little over 400 students. My families are extremely supportive and are asked to give all year long. They want the best for their children and do whatever they can. I am hoping that organizations like this allow me the opportunity to give back to them as well and create more opportunities for my students.
Our school had it's budget cut by $59,000 mid year. These cuts have been extremely difficult. This means we do not have a budget for supplies to get us through the remainder of the year. Families have gone above and beyond to make sure we have what we need. I'm hoping this small grant that will provide printer ink and supplies for snack time will help out so the families can focus on other items that are not as expensive.
Every day we have serve snack on trays with water pitchers.
Students can get their individual snack cups and water cups to serve themselves. Then we read a chapter book. It is one of our favorite times of the day. It is much better than passing out a handle of snack on the way out to recess.
We have been able to print photos, colorful printable games, and copies of student work, but ink is expensive. We have a beautiful printer in our classroom to make sure families always get copies.
I'm hoping this small grant that will provide printer ink and supplies for snack time will help out so the families can focus on other items that are not as expensive.
