Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are enthusiastic learners and are beginning to understand and appreciate their environment and the world they live in. They enjoy hands-on activities and experiments. They appreciate anything that is donated to our class.
My Transitional Kindergarten students are eager to learn and become great mathematicians and scientist.
However, we lack some supplies to fulfill their needs. I teach wonderful, curious, and active students who live in a low income, high poverty area of Los Angeles. The majority of my students are second-language learners.
My Project
My students enjoy learning through hands-on activities. The Lakeshore learning manipulatives set 1 and 2 that I am requesting will help my students enhance their learning. Students will be able to work on number recognition and problem-solving, increase spatial awareness with several of the activities, and work on fine motor skills.
My top priority is to make our classroom fun and engaging through Stem activities.
They will use these Lakeshore manipulatives such as the acrobat builders, waffle builders, gear builders, 3D Slot builders, design builders, and Slot-A-Shape builders during small group instruction or in centers. My students will love making, creating, and using the manipulatives to solve math science problems.
These activities are a great way to incorporate engaging hands-on learning while meeting Common Core Standards!
