This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from very diverse backgrounds. I have the privilege of working with a group of wonderful and creative students that work hard on creating colorful graphics and animation. My students amaze me when I ask them to be creative and think outside the box when it comes to creating designs for school clubs, CTE pathway classrooms, drama productions, and more.

Help me give my students the tools needed to create embroidered designs on various types of apparel.

They go above and beyond the normal rubric when it comes to their assignments. I love that they feel empowered in giving input on major projects that are given in the classroom. This allows them to buy into and add their own personalities to each assignment. Two-Thirds of my advanced students are Adobe CC Photoshop Certified and the remaining students are studying to get certified by the end of the year.

Over 85% of our students come from low-income households. They strive for success not only for themselves but also for their families.

My Project

Having supplies for the embroidery machine given to my class will provide me with the tools needed to teach my students to create designs that can be embroidered onto apparel.

The students will learn organization, keeping a clean work environment, and how to use a ten needle embroidery machine onto apparel.

A real-world work environment will help my students learn how important it is to be professional and ethical in the workplace. Students will also learn how to create a graphic design to be converted onto digital embroidery software then to a shirt, hat, or other apparel.

Providing my students with various resources to help them learn different career trades will help them be accomplished adults. The requested resources and material will also help to provide students with the knowledge of how to use the embroidery machine, keep inventory, and the process of completing the job.
