This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is in a high poverty area where students have grown up with many hardships. These 5th graders know though, my classroom is a safe place for them to be. Each one of them is a caring student who holds high values of respect and responsibility.

All my students are very enthusiastic to learn and grow their minds for their futures!

At the beginning of the year, I asked my students what their goals were and what they needed from me as their teacher. The results surprised me. Most of my students were eager to gain reading skills and learn as much as they can. My school started a new reading curriculum this year that my students are loving. Now my job is to teach these students the best I can. Hands shoot up when I ask questions and they are engaged. My goal is to give my students to tools to help them learn and grow within the classroom.

My Project

My classroom is in need of some basic supplies. We are constantly running out of tissues and hand sanitizer due to the sickness running through. These items are not provided by my school.No student wants to blow their nose on paper towel! We all can't afford to keep supplying them

My class needs a number line to help during math.

We would use this all the time, to practice counting plus this one gives us a spelling of each number.

A laminator can help us hold together those important games we use all the time. Our school tends to be out of laminating paper causing a problem with math games we want to use for practice.

All these items are stuff I have been trying to buy with my own money for my class. It would get used right away in my classroom.
