My Students
We are a small Title I public school in the inner city serving 750 students from grades 6-12.
Our students work hard in and outside of the classroom and we want to make sure they have all of the opportunities and resources that they deserve.
Despite budget cuts and lack of space and funding for extracurricular activities, we pride ourselves on making sure that they have the tools and resources that they need to be as successful as possible. I love my students because while they may not always have all the resources that they need, they take advantage of the ones they have and continue to succeed.
My Project
Our student athletes will be able to spend 4 days practicing and preparing for the upcoming season. They will have the opportunity to team build and get well-needed practice time on fields without fighting for space.
This Spring Training trip is an opportunity for my students to have access to proper fields and facilities to prepare them for the season.
Living in the inner city of the North East, our school doesn't have the luxury of having fields or a gym. The weather also makes it hard to properly train for the upcoming baseball and softball seasons. This Spring Training trip will allow my student athletes to train at world-class facilities, compete against other schools, and allow them to train properly.
