Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
What I love most about my students is their resilience and flexibility. My students have a positive attitude towards our remote learning experience and each other. They are hard workers who participate in everything we do, and they make each other and me laugh every day.
I love that, though they are apart, they are very close; they are near and dear to each other.
They have formed beautiful relationships with one another. They respect, cheer and encourage each other to keep trying, and they help one another all the time. They are a joyful and unique bunch who truly care about one another and their teacher.
I am truly blessed to have such a great group of children and their families who are supportive, caring, and loving towards one another and toward me.
My Project
As a first-year teacher, this has been a year filled with experiences. Up until recently, I would have thought that remote learning would become the new norm and would continue on throughout the remainder of the school year. With that being said, starting this week, my students will be returning back to school in a hybrid form, and I am in need of school supplies for my kiddos!
Sharing is no longer caring; help me give my students their own personal set of supplies and make their hybrid experience one to remember.
As students return back to school, their experience will be like no other. The famous quote "sharing is caring" is no longer a phrase that can be used within our community. To ensure the safety of my students and to avoid the spread of germs, each student will be given a set of their own personal supplies to keep and use as needed this school year.
These individualized sets of supplies will demonstrate to students and their families that their safety matters, and they are cared about. My students will finally be stepping foot into their classroom for the very first time this school year. It would be a beautiful thing to welcome them into their home away from home with gift bags filled with supplies for each of them.
Students will use these supplies for writing, coloring, and projects within the classroom and/or at home.
