My students can be found in a small school located within a small town. It's the kind of town that very few people move away from. As a result, the students are often lacking in life experiences and all too often do not have the home support they deserve. However, these factors are small pieces of the beautiful puzzles found in each of my kids.
The students I teach are hardworking, loving, and brimming with potential.
I am very fortunate to have been given the task of learning alongside these phenomenal kids.
My students have been begging me to add a class pet to our school family. A recent field trip highlighted the environmental benefits of worms, specifically in regard to composting. My students were immediately intrigued and begged me for our own set of these tiny tubular creatures.
A student-chosen class pet which promotes environmental wellness and can be incorporated in teaching grade level standards is an all around win!
I love that these students chose such a unique pet and I truly hope to make their wish a reality. This kit will help us create a low-waste classroom by having an on-hand composting bin. It will also teach my students how to be responsible for a class pet and be cognizant of the balance of things required to keep them happy.
