My students need books for our classroom library. The Pete the Cat books are of interest to my students and the Dr. Seuss books will encourage them to start reading on their own.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach Pre-K ese at a title 1 school. My students are all eager to learn and always wanting to please me. Each of my students qualify for free lunch and breakfast because they live in low income homes. In my county students in pre-k in the public school systems are considered special needs and are developmentally delayed. On top of all this I am a first year teacher so I do not have a lot of money or resources to provide to them.
I am here asking for assistance in providing my students with books to expand our classroom library.
Please help me give my students the best experience I can and make them as ready for kindergarten as possible. Thank you all so much.
My Project
This project will provide my students with a classroom library. Right now I have very few books outside of the provided curriculum for my students to read on their own time.
I am hoping to expand our current classroom library to allow my students to read books they are interested in and actually excited to read.
The Dr. Seuss books I have selected will allow my students to begin reading on their own and give them the sense of accomplishement. The Pete the Cat books, and the Laura Nuemeroff books will be for the students to look through and also be read to.
