Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a general education teacher in a kindergarten classroom. I am getting to know my 25 energetic five-year-olds who have begun to settle in with a wide range of knowledge and skills. For many of our students, kindergarten is their first time learning in a formal setting, and we would like to have a wide range of learning opportunities for our different learners!
My students are creative, hands-on, and multi-sensory learners.
I hope to provide children with different methods of learning that we hope to hone in on and encourage. With 25 individualized learners, I work to satisfy all levels of development and encourage building on prior skills in our classroom, no matter where the child is!
My Project
As the children in my class begin to write more and more, I would like to strengthen their fine motor skills throughout the classroom in different areas.
Just because children are in subjects other than Writing Workshop doesn't mean they shouldn't be strengthening their fine motor skills!
The games and puzzles that are included in this project work on children's concentration, increase eye hand coordination, and help strengthen their pincer grip. Children will work on these skills through puzzles, using small objects to transfer or put into peg boards, pull rubber bands around pins, and create small puzzles with their hands.
