Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are eager to help others. Some are working on games for special education students in elementary schools while others are working on tools to communicate with disabilities. We are about 70% free and reduced lunch and 60% Hispanic. My students love the STEAM classes and they love helping others. They are craving ways to expand their reach to help others. This will also help the girls in the class be motivated to join for future years. We are one of the few STEAM programs without a printer.

My Project

My students need this printer so that they can effectively use their time. Students have to turn in a lot of work to their teachers, most do not have printers at home so they print at school. The only printer they can use at school is a 6 minute walk to the library and then they have to wait in line for a library computer and take the 6 minute walk back to the classroom. That means in one 48 minute class a student could spend the entire period just printing one assignment for a teacher. Help students get more work done by enabling them to print fast and on the spot!

This will enable all of my students to be more efficient in their small amount of time in my class.
