This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
"Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there will ever be to know and understand."--Albert Einstein
FATE is a quaint little school in a neighborhood that feels like a small town in a big city.
The classes are small and everyone is treated like family. The majority of students come from low-income households and have limited resources, yet we have an extremely active PTA. We take great pride in the level of parental involvement at FATE.
My Project
My kindergarten students need STEM materials to explore force and motion. I am asking for tinker toys, a circuit set, a gravity maze, Goldie Blox spinning set, and other brain teasing games to build math and science skills. These materials will be used at our Tinker Table during our math and science block. Students will be encouraged to work collaboratively to design and build structures and machines.
This project will provide open-ended problem solving opportunities for my students.
They will have an opportunity to explore engineering, science, and math concepts in a hands-on, exploratory way. My kindergarten students need to learn through play.
