My Students

Most of my students are 9th graders in their first high school science class. It is up to me to make their first high school science class fun and engaging while providing them with a backbone of knowledge for science classes to come. I try to change things up in the classroom by giving them hands on activities. Unfortunately, hands on activities cost much more than just lecturing to the students. My 9th graders need the hands on aspect in the science classroom.

My Project

I need help funding timers and literacy for my classroom.

It is difficult to calculate speed, velocity, acceleration and momentum when you do not have working timers.

With more timers in my classroom I could break students into smaller groups with more participation. I find that when I have groups of more than three there is always a student left out. I want to engage all of my students into the activities we do.

Literacy is needed in the science classroom because students need to see the real world application to what they have learned.

All 153 of my students would benefit from timers and literacy.
