My Students

My students are special because they are part of a Title l school. We have a high low-socioeconomic population. Students feed into our school come from a variety of home environments. We are a newly consolidated school that is following the EL Education Model, with the motto, "We are crew, not passengers."

We have intertwined into our curriculum, Habits of Success, that include respect, compassion, curiosity, craftsmanship, trustworthiness, and cooperation.

These Habits of Success are important to help mold positive and productive future citizens.

My Project

Time for Kids is a great magazine for elementary students to be able to keep up with current events around the world. This would be a great reading material for students to have that is age appropriate and interesting topics.

Students will be able to gain knowledge about events that are in the making history, right now!

Time for Kids has journalist the same age as those reading them. It allows students to relate to the topics and knowing a peer has contributed is a bonus. The articles peak their interests to explore and learn about new things outside of their own world.
