One of the greatest things about being a kindergarten teacher is witnessing the excitement and joy every year as many students begin school for the very first time.
Every year students come in from all different backgrounds, experiences, and over the span of 180 days we become one big "school family."
During those 180 days many students will go from not being able to write their own name to making books and writing multiple complete sentences. Students will begin the year not knowing the letters in the alphabet, and by the end of the year these same students will be reading independently!
My Project
Having these hands-on and engaging activities in our classroom will make learning an exciting time! These activities and games will be used during our center rotations and whole group practice. During this time, I will be working with students in small groups, and these materials will ensure that my students are engaged in independent practice. These activities will allow my students to grow academically, socially, and physically.
These materials will teach challenging academic standards and skills, while still allowing my students to complete developmentally appropriate activities.
Students will be learning and practicing new academic skills, all while playing fun and engaging games with friends!
