My Students

My students range from the gifted to the special education students. I teach them all. We are a small, rural school system, and our school is in need of some technology and science equipment upgrades to keep up with the times. Our school is a k-6 school, and we service about 600 kids. Of those students, this year I teach 98.

My goal is to share my love of science with kids.

They come to me with little "lab" experience and more "book" knowledge. Many of my students don't really like science when we first meet in August. But by the end of the year, 5 units later, most of them love if not like it a lot. I am asking you to help me give them the experiences they need to successfully integrate science, technology, engineering and math into their lives.

My Project

Currently we do a lot of lab work in the science classroom. We are now down to 6 stop watches to collect data related to time. The 6 we have are difficult to use and often need to be reset. We are about to start our Chemistry unit and we need to time reactions. We really need to replace the 6 stopwatches we have!

These stopwatches from Learning Resources are high quality and easy to use.

They will last for years to come, as they have easy to find and change batteries.
