This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Interactive notebooks are a fun way for students to make connections to new learning. They also improve thinking skills and allow students to creatively express their understanding of what we are learning in class.

My students are second graders in a low socioeconomic school district.

We are lacking many of the basic things a classroom needs. I am working with students who are falling into the learning achievement gaps. My students struggle with traditional instruction and will benefit greatly from hands-on learning.

My Project

Interactive notebooking requires many school supplies that most of my students' families just cannot provide. To help us get started we are in need of composition notebooks. These notebooks will help us begin the implementing of interactive notebooks.

Interactive notebooks simply make learning more fun!

They will be a crucial tool in helping my students learn about reading skills, math, science and social studies topics. They will help me as their teacher assess their learning as we move from good to great. The notebooks will help develop the skills the students need to become successful students in all areas!
