My students are young and brand new to school! They are so excited about learning and it is my job to provide them with a wide variety of activities that will engage them in many different ways.
Not only am I teaching academic skills, I am also teaching my young students how to socialize correctly with their peers.
It is so important to use any and every opportunity to teach them how to interact with others. Dramatic play/social time allows students to interact in a more structured environment.
My Project
My students need time to play and explore their surroundings freely. These activities will provide them with a variety of chances to do so. They will be able to interact with other students while using their imaginations. Using these games and activities independently allows my students to solve problems without much guidance from an adult.
Building a strong imagination at such a young age will encourage students to think outside of the box.
My students need this puppet set, grocery store items, and blocks/building items so they have the correct tools for true creative play. The puppets and grocery store items will encourage them to use their imagination and socialize with others. The blocks/building items will teach my students to solve problems either independently or with a friend.
By providing these tools and opportunities in kindergarten, my students will be learning important skills to be independent thinkers and learners. They will be confident when exploring their surroundings and will be able find and create using a variety of tools.
