Help me give my students Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards for materials created by teachers like me to help them engage in meaningful activities at centers and during small group lessons!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My preschool students are amazing children from many different cultures and backgrounds. Our urban magnet elementary school has an international focus. In my class, there are 8 students whose first language is not English, and best friends often speak different languages!
My Project
If the pandemic taught me anything, I learned how to reinvent everything on the fly! I taught preschool virtually for the entire 2020-2021 school year and learned how to create many engaging resources and find almost everything I needed digitally.
One of my favorite new resources are Boom Cards, which are available on Teachers Pay Teachers.
Other teachers have created these self-correcting digital cards (think interactive PowerPoint slides) on almost every topic, including math, science, and literacy. Some of them are even in multiple languages, which really helps my English language learners make the connection between their native language and English. The students think they're games and not only are they learning, but they're also having fun! The best part is that with a code, students can play these games at home on their district devices. And I get to keep these resources to use for years to come. Truly a win for all!
