Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am currently a special education teacher for the 6th and 7th grade. My students would benefit from having necessary school supplies, ready for their use in the classroom. With the cold season coming around the corner, I am requesting disinfectants, tissues and sanitizer to keep them sick free.
Many of my students come from low income homes and many reside in local shelters.
When it comes to basic school supplies, many of them go without them. Their parents often have to make the choice to buy food and provide shelter and have no extra cash for school supplies. My school is classified as Title I and 100% of our student population receive free lunch.
My Project
I am requesting the very basics of classroom disinfectants. We are in desperate need of school supplies, specifically disinfectants for the upcoming winter season. Since my students are in special education, they already have huge obstacles to tackle as soon as they walk into the school doors.
They are classified as physically, mentally disabled or academically delayed.
Please provide these classroom basics and give them one less hurtle to overcome on their own.
