My students need materials for math time. We study telling time, counting money, fractions, and place value. We are in need of mini-clocks, Base-10 blocks, and games.
My students receive 90 minutes of Math instruction. One hour is whole group instruction and the remaining 30 minutes are small leveled groups. We spend a majority of our year learning the skills of telling time, counting money, factions, and place value.
I have 20 students who are eager to learn these important life-skills.
My school is a Title 1 school and most students are on reduced or free lunch. My students have minimal parent participant and depend on school to build their skills. They come from low-income households but do their best to succeed.
My Project
My students have small group leveled Math instruction for 30 minutes daily. In addition we have Math centers daily. These items will be used often and for most of our school year. We reteach and review these important life-skills of telling time, counting money, understanding fractions, and identifying place value.
We all know how important Math skills are in our lives.
As adult we have to tell time, count money, monitor our finances, and understand parts of a whole. My students will also need these skills as adults. I want them to understand these skills with ease and help teach them in an engaging way.
