Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"Miss, when is the homework due?" "When is the PSAT?" As a high school English teacher in a high-needs school in Manhattan, where 95 percent of students qualify for the free lunch program, these are some of the most frequent questions I hear.
One of the biggest reasons students fail is that they don't manage their time correctly.
With my students juggling classes, jobs, family commitments, and after-school activities, they have a hard time keeping track of all of their responsibilities.
To help my students, especially my students with special needs, better manage their time, I request copies of a 2023-24 academic planner. By giving students a planner, they can record essential assignments, information, and events, enabling them to keep track of their responsibilities. The planners will be used daily, with time set aside at the end of class for students to record updates. The version of the planner requested also includes space for students to write about their goals, project planning, and time management. With a dedicated planner, my students can see themselves as scholars and take charge of their lives.
