Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The wonderful thing about my students is that have a passion for information. Many of my students are investigative and like seeking out information on their own. They're eager to please with fun facts that everyone may not know.

My students are also avid readers.

The elementary school reading teachers did a wonderful job of instilling reading as a good habit and many of my students read every day. My students love getting as many book recommendations as they can!

My Project

I plan on using the dry erase lap boards to get instant feedback from students while delivering instruction. The whiteboards are also good to use for group review games for tests.

I plan on using the TIME Edge subscription to deliver timely and high interest articles to my students.

Many of my students enjoy reading for information and the subscription will deliver more resources to them. I plan on allowing students to debate topics tackled in the magazine since they love to debate various topics and to strengthen their ability to provide evidence in an argument and use of persuasive techniques.

Our classroom was affected by Hurricane Harvey.
