My Students

My students are optimistic and hopeful. They are survivors of the Camp Fire who are currently finishing their 8th grade year of school in Magalia, CA.

These 8th grade students are demonstrating resilience in every way imaginable.

Every day is difficult, and nothing is easy in our current situation. These students have 3 months left before their 8th grade promotion to high school. At such an important time in their lives, I want to give them the best experience possible.

My Project

Over the past few years I have integrated technology in my classroom through the use of learning apps. Students love it because it extremely engaging. I found the most effective way of using this technology is through Apple TV. It allows me to mirror a tablet or phone, controlled by the teacher, onto the large screen projector.

An Apple TV will allow the class to participate, as a whole, in a multitude of educational apps.

A couple of my favorite educational apps include geography trivia and grammar corrections. I utilized the technology very effectively at my school site prior to the Camp Fire. I would love to incorporate this teaching strategy with my new batch of students.
