My Students

My students have a unique set of skills and personalities. They are either severely autistic or have down syndrome which makes them each their own special person. Each day is an adventure on what they will come up with with the few words that they speak, but we love every word because it's such an accomplishment to watch them progress in the school system and in life.

Each of them have different skills to offer, a few are at low preschool level, a few just below grade level and a few that have major skills that we have yet to figure out how to bring out.

My Project

My students are in need of alternative seating to maximize their education because of their variety of disabilities. I will use these chairs during writing, reading, math and social skills. My students will develop their core and trunk muscles while learning so that they can eventually sit in chairs for longer periods of time.

I feel that these chairs would assist them in sitting longer at their desks to get more work accomplished.

Let's get them learning in a more effective way. Each student will have their own special seat which has been proven to work well with this specific disability group.
