My students need you! Many of my students have not ventured out of the state of Tennessee, some have never left the county. If this projected is funded I can bring the world to our classroom, since each student will get their very own Time Magazine each week.!!

My Students

I teach in kindergarten in a small, rural, title one school where over 76% of our students are on free or reduced lunches. Many of our students have dealt with poverty so it is my job to fill in the gaps. I want learning to be fun and very hands-on. 5 year old students can only sit still for so long. I am trying to make learning fun!!! Many of our students lack real life experiences. Many have never ventured past our own community.

My Project

Poverty is an issue for some of our students. It takes money to travel the world. I am required to teach numerous Social Studies and Science Standards. If I can order these Time Magazines for my students we can travel the world together while never leaving the four walls of our classroom!

If this project is funded, each student will get their very own Time Magazine each week.

We will read it together and utilize the digital resources that go along with each lessons. For example, if we are learning about space the magazine will show them pictures with vivid details of how to become an astronaut. Then, the digital resources will allow us to take a virtual tour of an actual spaceship with an interview of a real life astronaut!

HELP ME expose my students to the Amazing World around them! Help Social Studies and Science come alive to these very curious kindergarten children.
