Help me give my students Time for Kids. I try to show CNN10 daily to my students but I feel a weekly news subscription geared to their age would be a better source of news.

My Project

My fifth grade students are curious about the world around them but living in Alaska they aren't exposed to news the same way prior students in the lower forty-eight have been exposed. These children are socio economically disadvantaged and aren't exposed to current events at home. I feel that they need to understand current events are history in the making.

I try to watch CNN10 with them daily and any exciting current event, like the Artimus rocket launch.

The history books that we have in the classroom are older but this group is still very interested. The weekly Time magazines will be read in the classroom and discussed. Then, students will be able to take them home and share them with siblings and other family members. This is a very important project that will create many learning opportunities and I hope that you will donate to our project.
