In my classroom, I try very hard to instill a love of reading and learning in every student. I want them to be able to relate to every topic taught through out the curriculum. Social Studies is often very boring for students because of the wordy and difficult to read text books.
My third grade students are typically very diverse and come from a variety of demographic and culture backgrounds.
They all have the desire to learn in different ways but because of financial hardships at home, sometimes purchasing "extra" school supplies can be an issue. The school they attend is always trying to find ways to encourage student learning not just in the classroom but also at home. With Time for Kids, I will be able to spark student interest at school and then they can further explore at home with their families.

Having Time for Kids as an extra resource will allow me to create and implement a wide range of hands on learning activities that will help students relate to the real world around them! It will also introduce students to topics they have not learned about before and will allow them to share what they have learned at home with their families.
