Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
After utilizing data within our school to see where our students are weak it always comes back to nonfiction text. By having TIME for kids students are able to have fun while they learn.
My students are wonderful, respectful students who come from a low socio-economic background.
We live in the rural areas of Oregon. The majority of students at my school qualify for free and reduced lunch. A majority of my students have never been out of the Salem area.
My Project
If my students are able to receive TIME for kids from a donor I believe it will change their lives. They'll be able to read nonfiction text from these magazines. The writing will be interesting and thought provoking. It will enable them to see the world from a different perspective. I will be able to utilize the charts and graphs within the magazines to teach examining content and structure in informational text much more easily because students will be engaged by the TIME for kids articles.
I mentioned before that some of these students have never left Salem, Oregon.
Time for kids will educate these students about our global world and make them to be prepared for 21st century learning.
