My students need types of texts and access to science materials! These Time for Kids and Scholatic magazines will allow students to read different types of texts and allow more exposure to non-fiction texts.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach in a school in a large city. The school is in a high poverty area and unfortunately, my kids and my school do not have access to a lot of materials to enrich their learning.
They work hard every day to work toward bettering their education.
My students deserve the best and I want to give them the best. I have already put so much of my own money into this classroom and my students. I want to give them everything they need to make sure they succeed in first grade.
My Project
These Time for Kids and Scholatic magazines will allow students to read different types of texts and allow more exposure to non-fiction texts. It will allow them to read science and social studies related articles. Students will be able to take these home to read again and share their learning with their families. These magazines are engaging and motivating. They apply across the content areas allowing students to practice their reading skills while learning social studies and science content area. Thank you for supporting their learning and playing a role in their growth. Your support is much appreciated. Thanks again!
