My students need a subscription to Time for Kids weekly magazine that will get reading materials in their hands and in their homes.

You can provide a weekly magazine that is colorful, fun, and educational to Kindergarten students that do not have many, if any reading materials available in their homes. I teach at a Title I school in an urban area. My kindergarten students love books and we read books together every day. Their parents want the best for them but many are working two jobs and don't have time to get to the public library or the extra money to purchase books and magazines.

I would like my students to have a weekly magazine that we could read at school and then they could take home. Parents would benefit by having reading material sent home. My ESOL (English Speakers of Other Languages) students and parents would also benefit with the great pictures and simple Kindergarten text.

I know as a student I loved getting the school magazines. I saved mine and used them to play school. My younger brother has stories about that!!! I would love to pass the excitement of having a special magazine to my students.

Your donation would allow my students to have fresh reading materials each week. I know they would treasure the magazines the way I did mine. This would be one great way to get my students hooked into regular reading and the more practice they get, the better readers they will be.
