My students need access to real nonfiction text to keep them interested in reading throughout the year! In a time of budget cuts and older materials, these magazines will ensure my students have access to this.

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students work everyday to be better than the day before. How do they do this when they do not have the tools they need to succeed? My kids work so hard to become better learners. The classroom environment I create is one that encourages free thought and critical thinking. This teaching method is great at engaging the students in higher level thinking skills.

Over the past 9 years, I have purchased what I could to make their learning more enriched, but a teacher's paycheck only stretches so far.

In addition, this year the district has some pretty big budget cuts so funding just isn't there. I work in an inner city school and funding is not always there to make an ideal learning environment for the amazing learners! Please consider making a difference in these amazing children's lives!

My Project

Finding materials that my students are excited about reading can sometimes be challenging. The only way to become better readers is to have them read! Time for Kids will make sure that they are reading daily at home! This will be their nightly homework! By making homework fun and engaging, they will enjoy completing it!

Increasing the amount of materials the kids want to read has really helped them to become more confident and competent readers!

They will know what is going on in the world, new science developments and learn about history to become overall better citizens. Please consider donating to help my kids reach their full potential.
