My students need a classroom subscription to the TIME For Kids magazine in order to learn about current events around the world at their reading level. It is also important to have chart paper so students can reference class materials.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a Title I school where all students qualify for free lunch and most come from low income homes. Despite the socio-economic factors they are faced with, my students are absolutely the best in every way.
From the moment I arrive at school, my students are excited to greet me with huge smiles and are eager to learn, taking pride in their work and raising the bar on their own.
My students don't let the inner-city and socio-economic factors they are faced with affect their loving and caring ways.
I can continue to speak on behalf of all of my students, but words won't do them justice. They are all remarkable boys and girls that are special in their own way, and I am grateful to teach them.
My Project
I have requested a classroom set of the TIME For Kids magazine because it is an important component in teaching students current events. My students will benefit greatly from learning about events all over the world and being able to have an open discussion within the classroom regarding world affairs.
My students are amazing and their socio-economic status should not prevent them from learning about worldwide news and other cultures.
TIME For Kids would allow them to broaden their horizon and ability to accept social differences.
The chart paper I have requested will allow students to reference materials that were discussed and taught in class, as well as a learning tool in conjunction with TIME For Kids. I cannot wait to introduce this to my students because I know they will absolutely love it!
